Caregiver Support Focused on Quality of Life
Caring for an aging family member is not easy. It can be time-consuming, draining, and distracts you from everything else going on in your life.
But you want the best for your loved one despite the challenges.
Making sure all the basic needs are met is obvious...but is that enough?
Is your loved one making social connections, getting physical activity, and enjoying his or her free time?
Want to add some joy during caregiver respite time?
Recreation Therapy Improves Seniors’ Quality of Life
Recreation Therapy (RT) is more than just playing games or taking a walk. It’s a systematic process that assesses and evaluates each individual’s specific needs, desires, and challenges. RT uses goals and measurable objectives to monitor a senior’s progress during carefully planned activities.
Recreation Therapists are specifically trained and certified to understand how activities can help in several areas of your loved one’s life including:
-
Mobility
-
Strength
-
Motor skills
-
Memory
-
Cognitive skills
-
Self-expression
-
Feeling connected
-
Stress & anxiety
-
Discovering (or rediscovering) engaging activities
-
...And more!
Plus, a regular visit from a Recreation Therapist will be something your loved one looks forward to!
Discover The Perfect Opportunity for Respite Care
Do you ever worry your loved one is…
-
Not stimulated enough?
-
Losing important skills?
-
Not socializing?
-
Just sitting at home or in an assisted living facility?
-
Feeling bored or helpless?
-
Not getting enough physical activity?
-
Missing out on chances to enjoy life?
Now imagine getting a block of time each week where you can run some errands, get things done around the house, or take time for yourself. During that session, your loved one will participate in safe exercises, play games to help with cognition, and engage in therapeutic activities to promote social and emotional wellness.
And when you get home, your loved one will be excited to talk about what he or she did!
